The VIPs came out for the red carpet treatment to support the Burleson Opportunity Fund on Nov. 3. More than 100 VIP movie tickets were purchased for the event hosted by Premiere Cinema. The money raised, just from VIP tickets and sponsorships totaled $9,100-plus. The net profit, after expenses came to $7,165.61. That net did not include supporters who skipped the paparazzi, dinner and red carpet and bought regular movie tickets that night. Premiere Cinema donated a portion of the proceeds from the regular ticket prices to the fund.

Building Our Future

The Burleson Opportunity Fund is a scholarship program open to all high school graduates who live or attend school in Burleson.  The ultimate goal of the Burleson Opportunity Fund is to be able to provide every graduate from the City of Burleson with the opportunity to attend post-secondary education.  The Burleson Opportunity Fund was created to change the expectations of students, teachers and parents to include the idea that all Burleson high school graduates will and should have the opportunity to attain some form of higher education.  Currently students of the Burleson Opportunity Fund have been guaranteed a 1-year 100% tuition and fees scholarship to attend Hill College @ Burleson.  Funding is provided by many contributing partners, organizations, businesses, and individuals who are from Burleson or connected in some way.
